To live without a dream would be like living in a house without windows.

I write a bi-weekly literary column for the Brantford Expositor. the first story, Oh, Henry appeared on Saturday March 18, 2006. I also write general freelance pieces for the Expositor and I will be expanding my horizons in the near future, to other newspapers and magazines.

In March 2006, I completed a Freelance Journalism course at the University of Waterloo. Paul Gains, an international freelance Journalist, was the instructor.

Cavern of Dreams was created in order that I, Mary M. (Cushnie) Mansour, could publish my own writing, as well as writings from other local writers.

My love for the written word began at a very early age. Daydreamer, was the constant description my teachers would write on my elementary report cards -- little did they know that the seeds of great writings to come, were being planted in the caverns of my mind!

My love for fantasy was kindled while studying Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, in University. I began writing with a fury: poetry, children's stories, novels, songs, plays - wherever my pen led me, I followed! I soon had enough poetry to compile two anthologies, which I self-published in 1999 through my publishing company, Cavern of Dreams.
